For any parents in this dreadful situation this doesn't have to effect our kids just wanted to share this news we had the knock in 2021 whilst our daughter was in s1 she was at home, we reached out to the school for support immediately she was given a psychologist, then after sentencing given a mentor she had one pupil say something regarding the media coverage but school stopped it immediately and her friends all had her back, we have just received her letter for awards night and in her s4 year sitting nat 5 she is to receive 9 awards this is hard work and dedication not letting the situation define her, to say I am proud is an understatement
This is so lovely to hear. My children are such bright, beautiful, brave humans and I hate the thought of their potential being curtailed by their father's appalling behaviour. Huge well done to your daughter and to you - you've carried everything this far xx

My two were 8 and 11 when the police turned up for my now ex. My poor eldest was only just starting his second week of secondary school. He was out of the house, but my youngest was home as he wasn't feeling well. 18 months on & they are doing so well, academically, emotionally & socially. My eldest in particular has made a good circle of friends at school, is thriving academically, has become really mature & independent & started some new hobbies. Its been hard at times, but they're both living busy happy lives. The possibility of publicity lies ahead, but their schools have been great & they have a good circle of people around them who are all in the know. So there is hope!
