My person had their court case today, I feel like a slight weight has been lifted.
4 years suspended, sor for 8, shpo just restricts deleting history on devices no other restrictions. Probation weekly for 12 months.
I feel we can start to get back to a normal ish life now, just awaiting CS to get in touch as probation has said they will have to get in contact with them regardless as we have a child. Probation and PPU are happy for them move home as deemed low to no risk however we are playing safe and they are staying at a family members house until we have spoken to social (safety plan started 3 years ago stated person wasn't to stay in fam home) so just a waiting game before the battle with CS.
There is light at the end of the tunnel finally

Hi, as far as we are aware no, person said there was nobody else into he courtroom other than judge, solicitor and probation so hopefully we've managed to escape the media!
It's a hard and long process, stay strong!
Will happily answer questions if you have any

Hi can I ask what he did to get this sentence? Hopefully everything is smooth sailing for you with social services x
Hi, yes of course, arrested for images of all 3 categories but only 8 in total (I say only, I'd rather there be non at all) there were over 100 more but the specialist said the only way they could be accessed would be with a certain programme and there was no trace of this programme on the devices.
Person is on a course with Lucy Faithful and had since asked for help via GP off own back so all that has gone in their favour. Probation officer was really impressed with the fact that they had started to turn their life around already. So I think that had a huge impact on the sentence given

Just jumping in to say that it's irrelevant whether a court reporter is there physically in court. These days they're usually there remotely. Even if they're not, the Police release reports from their Press Department which the local Police put on their socials which is then picked up by the press. I'm not trying to scare or cause anyone extra worry. I'm just stating facts from my experience. Wishing you the very best. X
My son was arrested Jan 22. Only just charged this January. He is 2 weeks post sentencing. 21 months suspended. And it's been nearly 4 years since we had the dreaded knock. Unfortunately it was put in the press with most awful headline. Then made social media and awful comments. We were told it would unlikely reach media. And so never told anyone. Me and my husband held it all in for so long. Now it's all out in the open it is a relief. But I feel so sad for his future. He has his first probation meeting this week. He is hoping to finish uni if they will take him back. He only has a year left. Anyone has any experiences of getting back into uni.
