At what stage did everyone reach out to solicitors? I'm dreading the cost ect of this. Online communication offence. We have been waiting for the CPS for x4 weeks now. Did anyone go to court and actually have no solicitor? Husband has admitted the offence so I feel like why should we use our savings to potentially get him a few less community service hours?
They can help a lot in my opinion. You can't know what sentence the judge will make but ours was able to put strong arguments forward and we avoided a shpo. We were also looking at a suspended sentence but got a community order. This reduced the amount of time on the SOR.
We also had problems of a name mix up and someone's criminal record being attached to my husband which the solicitor was able to resolve when we were not getting anywhere.
It will cost you a few thousand for a good one as opposed to legal aid but was worth it in our case

Just makes me angry that we will have to take money from our hard earnt savings for my husbands stupid behaviours. I suppose we need to look into a solicitor once CPS decision then x
I rang a solicitor on the day of the knock but was advised to contact them again if and when the police called him in for interview, the firm provided a brilliant solicitor who then said the next contact would be if and when any charges came through, when this happened we contacted him again only to find out he had left the firm and a new solicitor who was as much use as a chocolate tea pot was assigned to our case. Do your research before employing any solicitor, despite resenting to have to pay I just wish we had paid extra attention to the history and success of the idiot that represented my husband and would willingly have paid anything for a decent brief.
