I feel exactly the same. Two years to get to second interview. Second interview 15 frickin months ago and still we haven't received a charge sheet. 40 months now FFS.
No, they don't give a sh!t about any of us. Teenagers lives turned upside down. My stress levels through the roof trying to pretend everything is ok. And on we wait...... its disgusting.
Tempted to get a journalist involved - to highlight the ridiculous situation so many of us are in.....

Hello Starr and Ellbee

I am so sorry that you have these long waits for your teenage sons, I understand completely. I feel your frustration and pain.

Make sure you are both looking after yourself, the best you can and do something nice for you, even if it is small, everyday.

You will both get through this, sending strength and kindness your way x

I'm same and currently off work with stress. I've said until this goes away my stress levels are not going to change.

Our OIC has been good on a whole but I messaged for an update because devices were due to be checked 22nd March and heard nothing. I feel there's no where to turn because it's not like you can complain to anyone and get it done quicker. They just don't get the lives of teenagers are being ruined in all of this and their families. To them you are just a number in their statistics in my opinion.

Hi, I hear you. Its so hard to look after yourself when you're feeling like this. ALL of this cr*p is so very frustrating, isolating and scary. I'm having to meet my ex in a cafe today because someone in my street recently phoned the Police wanting information about my ex's crimes that were 8 years ago because they knew he was visiting me in my home. Ffs! I simply do not want to have to meet in a flipping cafe. I'm disabled and I'm scared someone is going to recognise him and me but I need to go because I need to talk to him about our son. I'm so fed up and angry. Like you say, no one cares and even my community mental health nurse who was allocated to me has disappeared without telling me. Great. X

I've literally just had response back from OIC stating impression they get is devices are due to start being checked shortly. They were due to be checked 22nd March so 10 weeks ago.

It makes me mad they are not sticking to timescales and basically no thought for those affected by this. Then it makes me angry that you can't challenge them and because if this was a public service then no way anyone would stand for such delays.

My opinion is that the polie know how delayed things are but they avoid being the bearer of the bad news by making generalised statements, always implying it's moving forwards. As for why they think this is a good tactic beats me as anyone can see it only breeds frustration or anger. Perhaps they are secure in the knowledge that none of us will ever complain as cases are still active for fear of making things worse. I doubt too that complaining later has any affect to be honest.
