Reporting restrictions

Hi, I emailed the court ahead of my ex's sentencing to see if I could get any reporting restrictions on the case due to mine and my son's vulnerabilities. The court asked me to send details which I did months ago and I heard nothing else so I assumed that was that and it wouldn't get any further. Today however, I got a call out of the blue from a DI who is dealing with the ex's case. He asked me if I'd give a statement relating to why I was asking for reporting restrictions which I did today with his help. He said if it were up to him, the case wouldn't be reported on given what I'd said in my statement but that it is of course up to the judge on the day, which is Friday. He was really kind which I'm just not used to so I was a complete wreck when I got off the phone. I feel like there's the tinniest glimmer of hope and it'll be interesting to see what happens..... x
I've got everything crossed for you!! Is this for crown or magistrates? X
I'm keeping everything crossed that the sentencing finally goes ahead and that there are no media present in any form. X
