Hi All,

I thought I'd ask others for their experiences in waiting for Crown court. My husband plead guilty to 9 charges - 6 around the images and 3 counts of voyeurism ( he put a camera in our spare bedroom). Apparently Crown court has told Magistrates Court that they are fully booked and to put names in a list and they'll get to them. I was wondering about how long others have waited to get to sentencing in Crown Court. Also what those sentences were. It looks like prison is a real possibility. His solicitor said that he thought some of his other clients would be given a custodial sentence for similar charges but had suspended sentences. Will Crown court insist on a report from probation or can they move forward with sentencing without one?

I'm grateful for any experiences with this.

Thanks,

Hx

Its normally about a month between crown court and magistrates. They will usually do a pre sentence report, especially if it is a first time offence, although they can go ahead without one.

My persons wait was about a month between the two. He was given the date for crown court during his magistrates plea hearing. A few days after plea hearing he had zoom call for about 90 minutes for his pre sentence report x

Hi, my ex has six adjournments waiting for sentencing at CC. Its taken several months. He went to prison for the first offences so it was inevitable that he was sent right back last Friday for 2 years. 16 months for possession of pseudo images all grades and 8 months for breaching the SHPO. It's a complete crock of sh*te.

Hi

Thanks for responding. So really there's no real way to know. Apparently Crown Court aren't taking bookings from Magistrates. They're saying to put names on a list. Crown court is Apparently saying that they dint want Magistrates court to order a report from probation and they'll decide when they want a report from probation. I'd love a bit of clarity - just a timeframe. I suppose we all would.
