Can you please comment how long it took for the case to be resolved? What was the case please ? Is it still ongoing? If yes from how long?

Communication charged, no images and no evidence on phone. The case took 22 months from arrest to sentencing. I believe it can take a lot longer if forensics have to be involved as there is a large backlog.
I'm not at that stage yet with my person, so I don't know how helpful my reply will be, but i wanted to give you an idea. I think timings depend from area to area as to how long things take when forensics are involved. I spoke to my idiot husband's OIC and she couldn't say, as the forensics services they use cover a large area. Plus things change as they may have higher priority cases come in that need devices checking sooner rather than later. I'm still in the thick of it with my husband. His bail has been renewed once, and has been told to expect it to be renewed again, which will take it up to November. If that's the last renewal then any evidence found goes to the CPS. They're supposed to do their bit in 28 days, but I believe they have a big backlog too. Then after that stage it goes to Magistrates Court for a plea hearing, then possibly to Crown Court for sentencing. This all started early February when I got the knock and he was arrested. I reckon it'll be at least next Spring at the earliest for sentencing, so at least 14 months from start to finish. Too damn long to be in this awful limbo.
One charge of attempted communication for sexual gratification for one word. From knock to sentencing 7 months. Phone downloaded all clear no images no requests no further conversation.
Knock was 8th February, sentencing was 10th June (adjourned twice due to no pre-sentence report being created).

It all started in September 2023 (IIOC). The case went to CPS in March of this year and he still hasn't heard back. Its all very slow. He is considering pleading not guilty and from what I hear I wouldn't expect it to go to court till 2027 if he does.
