Hi,
It's been 2 years and 5 mths since my ex-husbands first arrest for online grooming offences, for which he was charged and released under investigation (due to the change in the law meaning that the police could not impose long term bail conditions). My ex was arrested again in August 2019 for the same kind of thing. I made a complaint with the IPCC as the investigation seemed to be taking so long and after repeated requests for updates from the Met being ignored, and I was told that all the investigation evidence had been sent to the CPS for review. He was charged at both arrests and I now know that they will be treated as two separate cases. So the first evidence went in November 2018 and the second in December 2019, my question is; how long can this take? He is a repeat offender and is still going about his business without any restriction.
He is not in contact with my children but until it goes to court, he is in contact with the general public.
As if his offences weren't galling enough he is still out there, unchallenged.
