Time between charges and evidence

Hello, we finally got charges two weeks ago but solicitor can't really do anything until the evidence is uploaded by the CPS to the database apparently. Roughly how long did it take after charges for the CPS to send the evidence, and how long was that before magistrates? Thanks in advance
Hi EllBee - I assumed that when charged a date for a plea hearing was arranged ie at the same time, but this has made me wonder if I'm wrong. Surely your person needs to know when the plea hearing is so he turns up? I would ask the solicitor again as the worst thing would be if there was an admin cockup and your person missed his court date. Sorry not to be more helpful and hope someone will correct me if I've got it all wrong!!
You have a very good point here, thank you! Don't worry though, we have the magistrates date (mid August, the date did come with charges) but after waiting SO long (3.5 years for charges, we now can't do anything because the evidence hasn't been uploaded. It's so frustrating.
I should have worded my first post better!

Ah good! I understand now but that is still more waiting to add to your stress levels.
I've just caught up with your post on a different thread and see you've had some answers, including that the evidence sometimes gets to the solicitor on the day of the plea hearing. Surely that's not deliberate, to give the defence solicitor hardly any time to advise properly? And I said that sarcastically!!!! I wonder if they ever suggest to the judge/magistrate that this hasn't given them enough time to prepare their client fairly? I think there is an awful lot of taking advantage of people who don't know the system well enough, and are probably in no state on the day to make any kind of fuss so just accept these shortfalls without question.......
