Hi, my ex went to prison 3 weeks ago. Unlike last time, this time he's allowed to call me. I'm really struggling with the costs of these calls! It's cost me £30 for two weeks of about 100 minutes. Does anyone know which service is the cheapest and best value for money? Thanks

Hi

Is he calling on a mobile number ? I'm not sure if you have a land line or can get one because the costs are a fraction of calling a mobile. I haven't sent my son any money towards calls and he usually tops he phone credit up once a week with £10 from his earnings. He calls me approx half an hour every day and his nan for about 15 minutes a day also on the land line x

Thanks. I paid £25 to a company to provide a virtual landline no but it didn't last long at all. He doesn't have any earnings and so will only get the £8 a week or whatever it is now to pay for all his toiletries etc. I could look into the setting my landline up again at home though. That might be the cheapest option. Many thanks for reminding me that I have one! X

No problem, we haven't used ours in years. But it was just a case of plugging it into the router. You could then send him money using the government pay a prisoner service to top his account up. It'll still work out alot cheaper for you. Once he's in education or work he'll be able to pay for himself x

He won't get any education or work. He doesn't need education and he'll be out in May. I'm not sending him any money because I'm now stuck in the Benefit system as a direct result of what he did. I keep in touch with him to reassure our adult Autistic son. X

It's not my son, it's my ex husband.

Honhart is referring to your comment 'I keep in touch with him to reassure our adult Autistic son' and is trying to be apologetic.
