So we are over three months post sentencing. This is where it gets difficult to explain, so I'll try and explain how we reached the formal complaint stage.

In May, as expected, probation attended our home to complete their checks with my son. And in tow the police arrive to complete checks of my sons devices!

they seized his phone stating he had been on social media. Something hes not allowed to do as per his SHPO.

Fast forward to last week. Again probation arrive and oh look, the police! Once again they check my sons devices. Laptop fine again, however the phone returned following sentencing, and his new phone, following the confiscation of the one in May were checked. My son was clearly frustrated.

Again they claim he has been on social media. Interestingly, stating evidence on the new phone however before he bought the phone?!

A week has passed and too many emails between myself and the local police. I have repeatedly pointed out they have provided no documentation regarding the seizure of the phone in May and only what appears to be a compliment slip for the two last week, after I requested documentation!

I have challenged the removal of property, stating this does not meet their policy for the removal, handling and storing of possessions.

I have been advised as this is an ongoing investigation they can not comment!

has anyone experienced or challenged similar.

We can not be confident as expressed to solicitors today the police have acted with integrity.
