Has anyone's person been refused entry when travel abroad?
We were going to go on a family holiday but I don't want to risk the kids seeing that.

It depends where you are going. Right now there should be no problem with Europe. Other countries are more difficult. The USA and Australia will refuse entry to people on the SOR.
There are other countries such as Thailand, where the police may object to you going, although when it comes to green notices, those are usually only issued for the most high risk people.

Hi,
I've been told by PPU that "application" for a green notice is automatic as anyone who has an offence is regarded of being at risk of committing a further offence and that a green notice stays alert for 5 years. You have to apply to have it removed. We are going on holiday in August for the first time since all of this started (Covid and he was 15) so we are presuming he will have a green notice. Worried about what this might mean. Our PPU is quiet over zealous (this was the one who said if he suspected there was a 40% chance of risk he would have him on remand.

Just read ETIAS won't go live until late 2026 - we get another year!
The guidance around green notices is clear, that it depends on the risk of the person and the risk of the country they are travelling to. A low risk person could be given a green notice, if they travel to a high risk country, but generally low risk people are not given green notices.
Although the process of applying for one might be automatic. That does not mean the end result will always be a green notice, just that they have to consider it.
The decision is taken by the NCA, who will assess the persons risk, based on what the PPU tells them.
A green notice does not actually stop someone from entering another country anyway. It only alerts the immigration authorities that the person is a risk. They may stop him and ask him questions at the border, but then decide to allow him in after all.

TU have recently updated their T&Cs on travel too. They are requesting anyone on the SOR to cancel holidays and going forward they will not book any holidays with people in it either. We have just had to cancel our holiday in 2 weeks time and currently waiting on the refund to book with JET2 who have a "no judgement" booking policy.
Extremely unfair to put everyone in the same box and a bad business decision on their part in the long term too.
This has only been released in the last few days so please anyone, check your holiday.
