Is it normal for the probabtion, social , courts and police to not work together??
my husband is in a bad place due to confusion, he had all contact restrictions removed by the court, but police have rudely shouted at him saying he has to tell them if he has contact with a child for the rest of his life?? He's on the register 10 years with no contact restrictions , it even has the bit about social care removed.
But they're still involved and saying only reason I can't supervise is my bond with my husband?? How can I prove to them that doesn't affect me protecting my child?? Plus they keep bringing up what if I have to go the the toilet what a daft excuse my son comes with me obviously??? Clutching at straws in my opinion
and who can fight his corner as the solicitor won't at this stage, this is well out of hand, and police should not stand there and talk to him like he's dirt on the floor, yes he's done wrong but no way bringing someone down this low is right :( even shouted at him for having a spare phone in case his breaks (his old phone which police know he has but this women was new to the case).
Will they eventually shack down with the poor attitude??? How are people meant to better themselves and they aren't being allowed to....do I keep fighting or will he never come home, it's his house, what do we do :,/

The OIC in my OHs case has gradually become more objectionable as the investigation has progressed. I firmly believe this is because he's realised that, rather than picking up a prolific 'p' with their decoy, they've picked up someone who is just a stupid idiot, who was not being too careful about who he was talking to online.
When OH went to be charged the OIC let a door swing shut in his face and was really horrible, shouting at him to be quiet when he asked a question. Unfortunately the solicitor wasn't present as it was literally for charging.
Fortunatley we've not had to suffer SS but from what I read on here, they are a law unto themselves.
You have my sympathies xx

In 'defence' of OICs, I can't imagine doing their job, having to wade through images of / conversations about child abuse day in day out. You must just get to the stage where you'd happily fire everyone who comes before you into the sun. And yes they should be professional etc etc (my ex's OIC is pretty crap, though she's more incompetent than hostile), but I doubt they get much / any support to deal with it all.
Lostinthewoods yeah that's exactly what the case is with my husband, just no sense of what he's doing online and downloaded any old thing sent to him! Now he's seen as a danger to the public!
sad & scared yeah that's true I couldn't do that job for sure! :S must be hard.

The only contact restrictions in the SOR are the 12 hour rule, which means notifying the police if he spends more than 12 hours in a house with a child.
Apart from that, there can be contact restrictions in an SHPO and SS can impose their own restrictions, which are different again.
