A month post knock and I'm just getting on with things for the sake of the kids. I need to start looking to planning the future but I'm overwhelmed. Any advice how you even begin to start separating with 3 young children and being pretty finically dependent? I have no idea where to start. Stories/experiences of this would be so helpful.

Hi,

get yourself a note book and book an appointment with citizens advice. You may be able to claim universal credit as a single person with children. If you have a mortgage and a joint account currently this may pose more of a challenge for the immediate future but it can be done xxx

When this all started for me I sat down with my banking app and a note book. List all outgoings, cancelled any clubs or membership I didn't really use.ade an appointment with citizens advice, contacted the council for any single persons reduction. Contacted spot it now. Arranged therapy through my work , if you can get access even short term it helps, (helped me) I also phoned the school and let them know what was happening also asked them to keep an eye on the kids and let me know if they had any issues. My situation was a vigilante group and was all over Facebook.

It's hard at the start but it gets a bit better and you do get a new normal

I hope your doing ok just remembered you need time for yourself too, if you can get the kids watched for a bit so you can breathe and process do it, even if it's just to curl up and let the emotions out.
