Supportive statement to Judge

Can anyone give me any ideas what to include in a supportive statement to the judge for my Son? Is it just character information and impact of sentence. I have been told definitely not to ask for media restrictions . I didn't see the harm myself but told definitely not ! I worried I may either miss something out or put the wrong thing
I did one for my ex OH and gave a character reference (I've known him 20+ years) and the implications it would have on my and my son. I explaied how he'd got in this awful situation and what he was doing to better himself.
I know it's a bit different but hope it helps.
you have to focus on them acknowledging what they have done and how and what they'll do going forward.
hope this helps x

I did a character statement for my Ex and the solicitor told me not to mention his crime in anyway and just talk about his character as a husband and dad x
I was advised to make the character reference no longer than 1 side of A4 paper. I started by explaining who I was, my job role and the fact that I was aware of my sons charges. I explained the journey my son had been on since his arrest, the therapy he had completed and the LFF course he had done. I also explained the remorse he had felt. I outlined the fact his marriage had ended and he'd lost his family life, job and home as a result of his offending and I also said that I had and would continue to support him in his recovery.
My reference was factual rather than emotional and I avoided writing anything regarding the outcome of sentencing.
I hope that helps.

Many thanks everyone, I've got one drafted . SOR signed yesterday and sentencing in 6 weeks. I'm heartbroken to see my lovely gentle son stood up in court . Exhausted today. Really appreciate you all x
