Do they get it wrong?

Hi all,
Back here again...
My OH was convicted last year for contact with underage girls, suspended sentence and 10 yrs on SOR.
fast forward to earlier this year and he was arrested again for similar charges. He's adamant they'll find nothing but SS have been in touch with me to check safety plan as they are saying he's now high risk with our child... (5 yr old boy) SW said in her experience the police never get it wrong and that if they've arrested someone they've normally got good grounds and will find something.
we're not together anymore but obviously this will affect my son and I just don't know what to believe. When it happens the first time he confessed to everything and was in a terrible state of shame and upset, even before all the phone checks came back this time he is calm and he said the reason they've come to him is because it's the same platform used (Snapchat) and a similar name to what he'd used before.
Could he be so stupid as to do it again with the same platform and similar name? Or can they just not stop themselves?
can the police get it wrong?
I feel so confused, am I being so naive?
If they do find something he could potentially go to prison? I just don't know what to think and I can't believe he's do this to his family again.

Does he have monitoring software on his devices? Have the police spoken to you? I think this is probably why probation went to ss when they found out about the unsupervised contact, however brief it may be. xxx
The police came to my house for about 5 mins to tell me what's happened but couldn't really give me many detains as it's under investigation
I'm not sure about the software, assuming not. I did say surely probation are checking his phone? God knows! Guess I'll just have to wait and see if and what the police find and go from there.

I'm my opinion and experience, it's highly likely he's reoffended. I think to keep your child safe, you should accept what the Police are saying until it's proven otherwise. I know that in "normal " circumstances one should be innocent until proven guilty but that's not how this works, as you know and he's got form. I'm so sorry he's brought this into yours and your child's lives again. My ex reoffended and to go through this once is awful but to go through it twice, well it's nearly finished me off! The other thing you might need to consider is the possibility that he'll get a custodial sentence this time if he's found to be guilty. Wishing you all the best. X
Thanks LittleRobin
I think you're probably right, it's highly likely he has reoffended. It has opened my eyes into how strong the addiction can be.
I just hope it doesn't take months and months to sort again. I already feel like the last 3 and a half years have been a right off.

Unfortunately, it'll take just as long again. My ex wasn't "addicted ". He's a P**dop**le.
Unfortunately I don't think they get it wrong very often. These kind of offenses they try to get as much as they can pre arrest to justify the arrest from my understanding.
They should have put monitoring software on all devises which should help make the process a bit quicker but there are so many people being arrested right now that there is a backlog. I was promised due to having a baby at the time of arrest they'd fast track ours to minimalise the affect on my daughter (who's luckily completely unaware). But here we are 7 months in and they still haven't as far as I'm aware even looked at his phone. I was told it should also be quicker because it's just 1 devise.

They can only put the software on the devices they know about.
If your person has a work phone or device, would they put software on these also?
Wanderer41 - I would imagine that putting monitoring software on work devices would require the agreement of the employer, for example I cant install any new software onto my work Ipad unless its from a pre approved list of apps and downloaded from the company IT portal.
Hi,
Usually companies have their own monitoring software xxx
