Sentences and work

Hi all, nowhere near court yet as only 1 month since the knock - however I am starting to try and think about the future.
just wondering what sort of sentences people have been given for communication / distribution? I realise it's all individual to the case but I'm clueless.
Also has anyone given a non-custodial sentence managed to find work after sentencing? Wondering if my person is going to be able to contribute financially going forward.
thanks x

My husband was 5 images he was sacked from his job got a new job 3 weeks later factory work now is a higher position and really likes the job it is 30 mins drive away but he preferred it that way
My person was communicating with a decoy.
At the moment probation have decided not to tell his work - he's nowhere near the public/ vulnerable people. And the court ordered no reporting / press do there's no reason he'll lose his job.
His employer also states in their offer letter / contract that they do employ people with criminal records but I suspect if they found out, rather than him voluntarily disclosing it, they'd be mightily pissed off.
Conversely however, there's no way he'd disclose it voluntarily so it'll always be hanging over him.
In addition he's on the register for 10 years with a 10 year SHPO targeted at communication risk, which involves monitoring software on all devices except work laptop, not allowed to share / borrow devices (eg look something up on my phone), and just found out he has to get rid of all games consoles in the next 21 days as they can't install monitoring software on those. He's a gamer so this is a big shock for him but I've pointed out this repulsive behavior comes with consequences! Evidence is that less time online is good so I consider it fair enough.

If they do a job that doesn't require a DBS then they should be fine work wise for the future because they don't always ask for conviction history all the time. It depends on the company. A lot of companies try to give second chances to convicted people as they know you're less likely to offend again in any crime if you have work.
Thank you so much for all the advice - I really appreciate it!
You only have to disclose if they want a DBS check, which I presume you'd not want to.. understandably you can withdraw from the interview. Depends what kind of jobs you want, a lot actually have t&cs saying they don't allow offenders if this crime to work for them, Iceland being one
I thought Iceland was supposed to be one of the most supportive in regards to employing ex-offenders, given one of their directors has done time themselves but it seems they pick and choose which types of offender they are willing to support.
Yes laughable isn't it!
Sainsbury's is another company that claims to to employ ex offenders but whose T's&C's state they do not employ people with SO convictions.
I don't come on here very often nowadays but I will comment on this thread because I am becoming increasingly annoyed by the firms who claim to be ban the box employers who in reality aren't because they discriminate against people who are on the register.
I feel very strongly that it should be a requirement of the Probation Officer to signpost people to jobs which they can realistically apply for rather than , as is the case with my son, letting them apply and be offered a job and then telling them that they can't do the job.
Obviously my son isn't going to apply for any position which involves children or vulnerable adults but when he asks what positions he can apply for all he is told is that he can find out himself...
He was forced to resign from the job he had due to his bullying visor despite him never being unsupervised or having contact with children

I genuinely don't understand the way some probations / police work when it comes to jobs. Especially when the job itself doesn't involve children (obviously) because surly having a job is better and reduces the chances of isolation , therefore reoffending... I know my person was told the police/probabtion can disclose even though he'd be working in a factory for eg.
I completely understand if you're working in an office, but there's plenty jobs where you don't use devices/ have contact even with the public but a lot make it extremely difficult it seems
