Hi,my husbands SHPO has finished in June 2025 ( we haven't travelled for the 5yrs the SHPO was valid and he had to sign the register.)

Now it's finished and as such I booked a vow renewal cruise last year in preparation if this to Europe in September 2026 kind of a fresh start for us.

Now I'm panicked that this ETIAS will flag his Now spent SHPO and stop our cruise. The actual conviction was 2020 abd when it finished the police officer said we would be fine travelling as it wouldn't flag as its spent, but I'm hearing conflicting information and am seriously petrified of not being allowed on our 1st ever cruise and holiday.

If not prison time was served and it was 2yrs community service and 5yrs on the SHPO register will it likely be a no to travel in Late 2026? Thanks all x

I have just looked this up, it does ask for any convictions even if spent. The acticle stated it is like the american esta where spent convictions will need to be declared. It goes on to say that though the application will be flagged it does not mean a refusal. Just that it will be manually checked. Though they ask for any convictions they are looking at the last ten years or 20 if terror related.
