Interpol
Notifications OFF
Has anyone that's been abroad had any dealings with interpol ? So we are going to Turkey in September and when my husband told his risk officer where we were staying she said she would have to contact interpol ? But said just get your holiday booked and have a nice time x
There is a process they have to follow for people going abroad. That would involve doing a risk assessment on the person and the country they are travelling to. Then they would contact the NCA, who will decide if a green notice is required.
If a notice were required, then the NCA would have to contact Interpol, as they issue the notice. She might be checking with the NCA to see if Turkey is on the list of high risk countries, which increases the chances of a green notice being issued.
But as far as I know, Turkey is not a high risk country, so there should not be any problems, unless he is regarded as a high risk offender.

Thanks for this response to this question even though im not OP. I'm just wondering, on anyone's experience - are you told if there has been a green notice issued? We go away for our first holiday since before all of this next week. I don't want to email the PPU to ask in case it jogs his memory - would this be something we should have been informed about if it has been issued?
Thanks x
