Hi

my person has been sentenced their shpo is for devices only , so would they be able to return home without social services being involved I have children who are 18 and 16 , they were originally living here when it happened and were given an sor last year , social services said they had no concerns and never got involved in the last 2 years , they moved out before court ,but I was wondering now they've actually been sentenced can they just come back without the involvement of ss as my other children are technically over 16

SS could continue to be involved with your youngest until they turn 18 as they are still considered a child. They won't be interested in the 18 year old as they are now an adult and deemed able to protect themselves and make their own decisions about contact (assuming of course they arn't a vulnerable adult)

I presume that you had no involvement from SS as he wasn't living at home, that may change if he wants to return. You may find this easier than many others on here given that your child is approaching adulthood and can clearly explain what they want from the relationship with their dad.

Hi thanks for reply , my person was living here when it originally happened and only involvement was one phone call to us , asked a few questions then said they'd spoken to police who said they didn't think there as any risk so never heard from them again .
so was just wondering if they moved back would the process start again with ss , ( person was sibling not parent ).
