So family member had voluntary interview , was discovered 33.000 videos went through telegram and sharing with others 19 other people , was in a short period of time from may 24 to October 24 , was released from interview and told to wait and hear from detective, my person was a victim himself as a child and feel he never got the support he needed that led to this , he had appropriate adult at interview and suffers many mental health issues , he is also the sole carer to his mother who has sight issues , hes now going to have therapy with safer lives and he has put surveillance programmes on his devices , this is a first time offence , he's also being tested for ADHD soon , I think it was a moment of madness on his behalf from porn to CP , he's not a bad person by any means he has a good relationship with detective and solicitor , he went no comment in both interviews, so I want to know what the most likely outcome could be as it was distribution and think that's the worst of it no ? Sorry it's long winded I just need some possible scenarios what might happen , thankyou for reading

Hello Upset Person

I am so sorry that you find yourself here.

It is understandable that you feel the need to know what the likely outcome will be for your family member. Unfortunately no two cases are the same at all, so it is difficult to say what the outcome will be. There are so many variables like whether it is a first offence, if they are vulnerable at all, if they are seeking therapy, length of time of offending, the judge they get at court and so on.

Have you spoken with the helpline? If not they can provide support to you and your family member through every stage of this journey.

As your family member has mental health issues and waiting for a possible diagnosis for ADHD, how well are they coping with this?

Please remember to look after yourself the best you can.

Thinking of you and your family member x

Hi yes , he is classed as vulnerable has suffered depression since he was 16 as he was abused by his father as a child , he tried to commit suicide at 14 with a drug overdose, I don't think he ever received the help he needed back then , I'm just worried for his mother's sake as she solely depends on him as he's her sole carer ..

I fully understand that you are worried about his mum as he is her sole carer.

It sounds like your family member would benefit with working with an experienced therapist to explore how he ended up down this path and to work through any trauma he experienced when he was younger. Is he open to talking about what has happened?

Are you being supported at all, as you are trying to support your family member and their mum?

I am pleased to hear you are being supported by family and that your family member is hopefully seeing a therapist soon. It sounds like you are doing all you can at this moment in time.

Take good care of yourself xx
