I’ve read the evidence report HEARING UPDATE
Notifications OFF
I was asked to keep you lovely lot updated with the result of the plea hearing today.
So we arrived early - before 9.30 - solicitor arrived shortly after. Hearing was at 10 but we were late going in as the prosecutor was late and there was only a trainee prosecutor. In the end they got another prosecutor to sit in via video link.
OH pleaded guilty to all three charges - attempted communication (decoy), 1x Cat C and 1 x Cat B.
The prosecutor read out some of the evidence, but nothing that I didn't already know, and none of the gory details. Our solicitor then asked for adjournment so that a PSR can be obtained.
Sentencing will be early November and will be dealt with in the Magistrates Court rather than going to Crown due to the 'low level' nature of the offence and the fact that it's a first offence.
As far as we are aware there was no press present. Fingers Crossed.
He needs to sign on the register and we will go and do that this afternoon.
So whilst we are relieved to have today out of the way, we now have a new date to dread. At least there is now some light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks for all your kind wishes and I sent love and light to all of you
xx
13 days away from his plea hearing and today his solicitor emailed him the evidence for the prosecution. He didn't have to share this with me, but he has done.
Ok so it's nothing that I didn't already know, as he has talked to me about the interviews etc - but it's much harder seeing it in black and white - kind of makes it more real.
He is being charged with 1 attempted communication and 2 IIOC.
BUT - there were 5 or 6 other conversations which can't be charged for as they were redacted and mostly unreadable - insufficient evidence - but enough to help the prosecution build a picture of a sexual predator.
I'm really struggling again (as has happened periodically over the last year since the knock). From the evidence it clearly shows he knew what he was doing - asking age and carrying on anyway. However he still maintains he has no recollection of any of these conversations or seeing any IIOC (even when he commented 'nice' to one of them). I will add here that he will be pleading guilty.
We've both done courses, and he is having counselling. He was in a very bad, depressed state and was recovering from a massive heart attack when he committed these crimes, all of which happened over a couple of months in 2024.
I'm a 'stayer' and I promised to support him no matter what - which I will do - whether that be together or apart I am undecided again.
I don't really know the point of this post, other than I needed to say it to someone, and I can talk to you all and not get judged.

My person has their plea next week. Is it normal for the solicitor to email over evidence? He is also pleading guilty and hasn't received anything...
I don't know I'm afraid. You could always email the solicitor x
Please could you let me know the outcome, I hope you are ok
Reading the evidence is horrible, and I completely feel for you.
I have no advice, just wanted to offer solidarity xx

ES - I will do, of course, and thank you x
K4 - It's just hard seeing it written down - makes it feel more real. Hopefully we are almost at the end of this part of the journey and will soon be able to think about moving on and rebuilding

My person had his plea hearing today and the read out all the conversations he had with the vigilant group.i haven't seen the transcript as yet but he thinks SW will try and get me to read the. I don't know how I feel about reading these. I kind of want to read them but fear to do so.
Hope all goes ok

Moon - I'm sorry that happened and I hope, if they do make you read them, that you find the strength.
I will be there tomorrow so I'm prepared for the worst although it's a guilty plea so no real need to read it all out in my opinion - hopefully they will save that for sentencing x

Just to add, my person pleaded guilty but still they read out the conversations. As background for the judge to decide if it can tried at magistrates or needs crown court i imagine. So just to prepare yourself for that. I hadn't heard/seen any of the evidence, only what he had told me. So it was the first time hearing it for me which was hard!
@lostinthewoods my persons was a guilty plea and had written a guilty plea back in January to the PF. I thought it strange that the read them out. He was also taken second today so court was full
Good luck tomorrow
