Sending you lots of love x

Take it easy and be kind to yourself, it's so hard to navigate through this awful rollercoaster of emotions and feelings - I know I feel different every day x

If all we do is try and put one front in front of the other then that's absolutely great. I'm here for you as I know many will be, offering a virtual hand to hold, we are stronger than what we think xxx

Hope everyone is finding those small glimmers of joy on our hellish journeys.

I've had a mixed bag of a week; but a lovely coffee catch up and long walk in nature with a friend really helped put the world to rights.

I did want to share something that was supposed to be nice that turned into a PTSD moment and did not come with a trigger warning.

Me & my child decided to have a movie night - I'd never seen the original lilo and stitch and all the trailers are out for the new one. I just knew it was about a little girl who makes friends with a blue alien and it's Disney. Big mistake. #trigger-warning DO NOT go to see this movie if you have had a rough time with social services. It brought all the fear back of those awful early days when I didn't know what was going on and the "professionals" we were dealing with lead me to believe they were intent on taking my childcaway. Also if you're in "team leave" I'd avoid the kids film "spellbound". It's a beautiful animated film but essentially it's about the parents splitting up and turning into monsters because they can't get on/stay together. That was a tough watch fresh after the knock & separation.

Sending you all a strength and love and little serenity prayer I heard in a podcast about anxiety that might help us in our situations;

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.

Hi Starr and all,

We have been on holiday and it was great to relax, forget and enjoy family time. It felt bad coming back to reality though. Still waiting for first interview 14m on!

My son got his GCSE results and did really well so that was a positive.

Sorry to hear you are struggling so much Starr, hugs xx

Hello weekend check-in

Hugs to everyone on this journey.

I found sharing my story on the first anniversary of the knock quite cathartic after an anxious week - thank you to those who took the time to read/support/respond.

Another painful anniversary tomorrow of his attempt to end it all. But we still get up every morning and just get on with life.

His plea hearing is this Wednesday - dreading it.

So today we are off out for a nice long walk in the sunshine, maybe a spot of lunch out - as it's Bank Holiday weekend tomorrow we will have a day relaxing with some gardening I think, weather permitting. Keeping busy is key. No time to dwell on what might be.

xx
