Hi all!
long time no post!

my husband has SOR and SHPO.

today he has lost his phone (dropped out his pocket) and we think someone has stolen it.

he's now really anxious about what the police will think and that he will be in trouble for losing it. I've told him not to worry but he's really in a bad way with the anxiety.

has anyone been through something like this and can help reassure him that it's not going to be an issue?
I've said if he had of got a new phone and sold the old one they wouldn't care so they won't care with it being lost. Only that he registers a new one when he gets it.

My OH lost his phone. He had to declare to the police that he had lost the phone and how he lost it. Within the three day deadline. When he got a new one he then declared his new phone. We did eventually find his old phone, it was handed in to a local pub (he lost it in woods next to the pub). He then told the police that he had found the old one.

I would report the loss to the team supervising him at the earliest opportunity along with details of any replacement he has bought.

If you believe it has been stolen I would also report it, I doubt anything would be done about it but you will have a crime number so you can at least say the police were aware of it should anyone start making an issue of it.

Hi all

thank you that's really helpful and reassuring

reported to 101 last night and then to his SOR team supervisor too. He reported it about 4 hours after he lost and once we were reasonably sure it wasn't going to come back to us - they still asked him why it took so long to report it!!! I told him not to worry as he had no legal obligation to report sooner and they just like to be a on power trip!

im also getting him to go back to the doctors for his anxiety!

thanks all!
