Bail Extension with Conditions
Notifications OFF
My partner has just received a letter stating his bail has been extended. There are 4 bail conditions, the reason given for these conditions is as follows:
Committing an offence whilst on bail / PREVENT FURTHER OFFENCES
Does this mean he has reoffenced sunce his initial offence?
Committing an offence whilst on bail / PREVENT FURTHER OFFENCES
Does this mean he has reoffenced sunce his initial offence?
I would assume so yes /: how long has he been on bail? My OH was on bail for 10 months then put on RUI for 16 months.
I believe this is standard on some bail conditions sheets. It doesn’t mean he is guilty of new offences yet, just that the police/court believe the risk exists, so they add conditions to manage it. Are his conditions to do with things like where he can go or do they talk about a curfew for him to have to abide by as these are the kind of conditions usually alongside this wording.? The meaning isn't very clear - I think the police should paraphrase things they have on official forms so we can understand exactly what they mean.
I agree with RainyDay I think this is just how the form is worded, all of my partners bail notices have the same wording including the first one issued on the day of arrest at which point he would have had no chance to reoffend as he hadn't yet been released from custody.
My ex had the same wording on his paperwork. It's just standard
This is standard wording. It's been on my Ohs bail conditions right from the start. Please don't read more into it than necessary - I know how our minds go into overdrive at times like this xx
