Hope you're all ok.
Gym and life admin for me this weekend. Been a stressful week for one reason or another.
Think I'll feel better if I can on top of things.
Been invited to a wedding in a few months so that's given me some motivation to start looking after myself a bit and start thinking about what I might wear. It's an old school friend - no real connections other than her and her wife to be, so I feel ok about going. They've been together for years and really just wanted a big party for friends and family and they don't have kids so the conversation is usually nice and comfortable and not at all kid related. It sounds like it will be a lovely relaxed day. I've even booked a hair appointment! Scarecrow hair be gone! Well for a day anyway.
Does anyone have any TV recommendations? I've run out of all my 'safe' TV. Needs to be something I can get absorbed in but not crime related. And not too much focus on family. Or perfect families anyway. Comedy possibly. Strangely this isn't a section in netflix!
Hope you all got through the week ok and hoping you can all find something nice to do, have a relax or that you get whatever you need from the weekend.
I'm going to need to dig deep to get through the life admin because although I know I'll feel better, I really CBA!

It's really interesting to hear you say 'safe tv' because since the knock 11 weeks ago I haven't been able to just watch normal TV or listen to the radio! If you haven't watched Schitt's creek or Superstore on Netflix I recommend those 2!
For me the weekend is the usual running around after kids and various animals. Also wondering what next week will bring - will I be happy and positive or tearful and anxious. Who knows!
The wedding sounds lovely and something to really look forward to x

My weeks been focused around my 17yr old going back to college. Panic attack first day so didn't make it. Made referral to camhs because feel he needs support plus feel he's suffering ptsd.
Usual wondering if this week we will get update. Will my sons life be totally ruined.
Positives celebrating husbands birthday.

Okay. So spoiler alert the new Roadhouse.. is not a patch on the old Roadhouse...weekend been very up and down...and humanity does still exist..take care all..
I also found watching TV difficult after my sons arrest, which was nearly 4 years ago now so I'm not sure if these are still available. I enjoyed The Cockfields, with its simple humour and easy story line and all 3 series of The Split. At the moment I'm watching Billionsairs Playground.
I watched fire fly lane recently... its a series, a bit similar to beaches the film about 2 best friends going through life together. I really enjoyed it.
This week hasn't been too bad for me, still getting used to being alone. I still keep in touch with my ex, we have a dog together and I would never take a dog away from someone as ive had it done to me!
Im probably making things harder for myself by remaining friends with him but it feels like something I need to do at the moment.
He has the pre sentencing report this week so we will see what that brings and then sentencing next week.
I find myself coming on here less and less which is good because I was at a point of checking it numerous times a day. I went the whole of yesterday without coming on which is the 1st time since the 2nd interview in may so im proud of that. Small steps.
Hope everyone has a nice week! X

Friends
Friday night dinner
The IT crowd
The traitors
The office
The Marvellous Mrs maisel (on prime really recommend this one!)
All Adam Sandler films.
The Gilmore girls
Frasier
You can also search for 'this morning' on ITVX and watch those from the week as cheerful background noise.
I couldn't watch anything with any drama for about 6 months after and still really struggle with things that feature the police/court rooms etc. And my attention span was really poor I would watch about a minute and then be back to the day of the knock in my head, I found podcasts were good for having constant noise to stop my thoughts spiralling. There's a really funny one by Chris and Rosie Ramsey and another by Katherine Ryan.

Up and down week, getting used to being on my own. Idiot ex husband came over in the week to see his cat and collect some more of his stuff. It was wierd, just a strange facade of normal small talk. I dont think he's doing too well mentally, but he's never fully opened up about anything so he's not going to now. I've started to reorganise the house a bit, and now its just me I can work when I want to, so as it was a nice day on Friday I did some gardening and I'm working today. Its good to be able to do that without feeling guilty that I'm neglecting him. Had one of my besties over for dinner last night. It was lovely and the first time I've had someone else in my house since it all happened. I'm checking the forum less and less, but still coming on every few days rather than multiple times a day. Its a step forward I guess. It really has been a lifeline through all of this. Next week I'll be working lots and I'm going to Alton Towers too! So that'll be exciting
i like the word safe TV for me its binge watching , takes up the evenings and nights as i am on my own , i find i can just switch off and just not have to think about anything
Just a few trigger warnings for what you would think was SAFE TV
*moana-eapecially if you've had social services involved.
*spellbound-animated about a kid whose parents turn into monsters; it's all about the breakdown of a marriage.
I can't watch crime dramas, anything involving kids being upset and even the medical type dramas are no good for me anymore.
I was at a fitness class the other day and a snippet of the song I had at my wedding was played and I froze on the spot and couldn't get back into it until it had finished; I was about one verse away from asking the instructor if they could skip it or excuse myself from the class to have a toilet break (cry in the loos).

I'm sad but also comforted a bit that I'm not the only one with lots of TV restrictions in place!
It affects so much doesn't it?
I've had to leave the gym a few times because of news reports or music.
Side point - I hate that you can't see the thread when you're replying because my memory isn't good enough for me to respond properly! So I rarely reply - not because I don't want to but because it's too hard to remember all the responses and names!

I work in an area with similar topics often brought up, so it's impossible to avoid :-(
