I am now back in employment and needed a dbs check, no problem as I am only in this situation because of my ex, however, on the form it asked if anyone in my household had a criminal record. This doesn't apply to me as I ended the relationship, but is this another way we will be punished for a crime we didn't commit? So if your child / partner is convicted are they going to tell your employers?!
also, how does this work when you house share, are you meant to go around asking your flat mates if they have a conviction?

The DBS for most people just looks at you. But some jobs require to know if someone close to you has a criminal record. My last job required this and they asked us to inform them before signing the documents if the answer was yes but it only mattered if it was certain crimes which they went through.
I needed one for my volunteering role and there was no issue.
