Heartbrokenmum - your post reminds me so much of my own story. We are much further down the line (3.5yrs) and due sentencing 3rd Oct - this has already been cancelled twice the day before. I am not the person I was before he was stung by vigilantes , he was living at home then. You will get through this somehow but just how will not be clear at the moment. I will DM you but please remember you are not alone Starr and I are both mums and there are plenty of us who use this forum as a bit of a crutch to get us through some awful days xx

Hello Heartbrokenmum

I am sorry that you find yourself here. Has your son been able to talk to you about how this has happened? Young people on the autistic spectrum can be quite vulnerable online. Some of them see the online world as their safeplace to make connections, friendships etc instead of interacting in the real world.

The Stop it Now helpline would be able to support you and your son, when you feel ready to speak with them. You can email them too, if talking about it all is too much. Your son may be able to do the Young Person Inform Course with them - they can adapt it to take into account the autism, if needed.

I am thinking of you and your son.

I'm also a parent and first post here. My husbands story has just appeared on social media and it feels like life is falling apart. I hope for a day when this is in the past, today has just been the hardest day of my life
