How long until the charges come?

Hello,
I'm just over one month post knock. My ex partner was arrested after confessing to possession of iioc. I ended the relationship immediately and kicked him out after his arrest. However, the police also found that he'd been looking at other illegal publications (not related to iioc) so he has been held on remand for charges related to that and the iioc charges are still to come. I'm in Scotland and I understand that iioc charges can take at least a few months to come through but I'm wondering how long others have waited? I'm hearing of some people waiting 2+ years in more complex cases. I'd just like to have more of an idea so I can get my ducks in a row for when he eventually goes to court. Thanks x

My daughter's husband was arrested on 30th July and he was at court on Friday as he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
It was fairly quick for his sentence etc although we're very much still in the dark as to what the charges were.
I hope you get the answers you need.
Take care

My sons case was a straight forward communication offence. He admitted his offence at the time of his arrest and openly told the police what they needed to know to put the case to CPS. His devices were all clear and the evidence used came from his interview during his arrest. It took 20 months from arrest to charges being issues, 1 month from charges to plea hearing and 1 month from plea hearing to sentencing.
