After SS dragging us through PLO my OH has had his assessment come back- as low risk!
Relieved to say the slightest- just waiting for my solicitor to send me the results of my assessment now

Great news! We've survived the ordeal of PLO and CP and it's all completely closed for us now after positive assessments. Fingers crossed for the same outcome for you xx
That's great news for you! How long was it from you getting your assessments to them closing your case? X
We got the assessments back in March and had to do a course together which ended up working in our favour as we wrote a realistic long term plan with her that we can review / change ourselves. Social services didn't question any of it which was a relief. So currently as long as I'm in the house and I do personal care, we're fine. My OH can take our child to other supervisors houses without me going with. Once our child is able to communicate their needs and no personal care (currently just 7 months old) then I'd be fine with occasional unsupervised contact. He never had to move out due to the low risk assessment coming back a week before the birth (so stressful at the time!). We didn't agree to no school runs etc like previously discussed.
The course finished in July (was 6 weeks) then an update parenting assessment which they allow 4 weeks for, then PLO closed at the beginning of this month and CP last week. Visits have been every 4 weeks for the last 3/4 months and announced only. So they weren't very involved at all despite the scaremongering from them during my pregnancy. Crazy that in January this year, we were told to prepare for the worst (divorce) and potentially losing our child because of the risk my OH posed. And after the risk assessment, it was a complete 180 and suddenly backing off. I really hope it's the same for you! You've survived the worst part!
One piece of advice, if the social worker still insists on something you don't agree with, ask your solicitor to go to the independent risk assessor and see what they think. Even after a low risk assessment, the SW still didn't want me to supervise or my OH to live with us. Against our solicitors advice, we asked them to ask the assessor what they thought and they said im fully capable of safeguarding and my OH isn't an imminent risk so can be at home!
Good luck! xx

So pleased for you. I have read my OH's report in a bit more detail - 46 pages! The assessor that there isn't actually any work she can recommend as it won't lower risk. I think this is because his offence was communication, no images involved which didn't meet SHPO or SOR requirements. It was a massive grey area. The only thing she has recommended is relational therapy xx
Update- had my capacity to protect assessment come back. The independent assessor is an academic so the report has been written in an academic way. She has written that I'm protective in her own way and the only recommendation she has put is general psycho education just to build on my strengths and deal with being judged and not to fix any deficits. It was lovely to see that she wrote that non offending parents are the secondary victims and my OH's offence is not my shame to carry! No SW has ever said that x
That's positive! I bet it's such a relief
Our risk assessment was the perfect outcome really but it helped that we did lots of different courses beforehand so anyone else reading this thread, make sure you and your OH have at least done Lucy Faithfuls course before the assessment.
The recommended course wouldn't reduce any risk or increase my capacity to protect, it was because the risk assessor basically works alongside the person that runs the long term planning course so a bit of a sales tactic really. It essentially was a repeat of LF but as a couple and meant we could have in writing that my OH can be unsupervised when our child is older and mention of future children too so as long as nothing changes for us, we should no more issues with SS including if we chose to have more children. The SW and chair reassured us of this in the last CPC. So it was worth doing in the end.
Fingers crossed they're fast acting for you and you can go into next year without this weight over your shoulders xx

My OH has already been told that we are being stepped down from PLO. He had his meeting with his solicitor today before the next PLO meeting on Thursday. They have written in black and white that the threshold of significant harm is not met. So it will be very interesting to see what is recommended at the conference review in three weeks x
Fingers crossed the threshold isn't met for CP then too since they're the same threshold! Then I'd imagine CIN for a bit if still some long term planning to agree on or closed completely if there's no reason for them to be involved anymore! So pleased for you, especially after the amount of stress it was causing not that long ago xx
