Selling property problems

It's been a long time and I had hoped things were moving forward but once again things slow down. After sentencing, my person's house was spray painted, we had planned for him to move closer so I could keep an eye on him, this just made it happen sooner. So we have been getting the house fixed up and ready to sell and it has been on the market for the last few months. Now the estate agents have said they will no longer represent him because of his criminal record as they will have to disclose. Has anyone managed to do this successfully?

My house was targeted - graffiti and burglary - by a neighbour. My husband was no longer living in the property. 2 years down the line I have just sold it. Like you it was a renovation project which I had neither the money or inclination to finish.
I was worried that people would put two and two together and realise that one of the owners was on the SOR - a distinct possibility as it was almost over the local press.
Thankfully nothing happened and it sold within 3 weeks. And I'm glad to be out of there.

This situation very much depends on whether the estate agent asks. You could try to sell it yourselves or use an online agent if you're finding local ones won't help you. Estate agents have a code of conduct which suggests they should tell prospective buyers significant info such as if someone was murdered in a house or if a convicted sex offender was living there. However I think it's a code rather than a legally enforceable rule but I'm not 100% sure - sometimes these things are if the estate agent knows they have to tell but if no one mentions it they can't be held liable and that's ok
Best of luck

I couldn't afford our martial home as a single parent, I also had to leave my work due to childcare and various other issues from my ex husbands offending.
I had no issues? But I wasn't asked anything, my property sold very quickly and everyone thought I had sold because I couldn't afford the property anymore due to separation.
