Hi all - first time posting and keeping some details vague so I can't be outed.

My partner was arrested earlier this year and is currently on bail. He has had no contact with our child direct or indirect since the arrest due to bail conditions. He also isn't allowed to contact me and I have broken up with him following the arrest.

The more I've found out during the investigation I have come to the conclusion that I don't want him to have any contact with our child in the future.

Has anyone successfully managed to go to court to get this put into place? What are the chances of a court saying yes to him having zero contact?

Thank you

No two judges seem to rule the same.

im currently battling family court (private)

my children's father / ex husband (the offender) is taking me to family court for unsupervised access.

this has been going on over 2 years, different judge with different opinions each time and no final order made.

all professionals agree supervised , but there's no-one to do it and due to our child's disabilities contact centres are no good.. it's ridiculous tbh (the fact I'm being dragged into this for 2 years) and judges seem focused on the issue of making it 'fair' eg they class my ex husband as low risk, low risk of re offending

apparently we qualify for legal aid , no one told me this (surprise!) because the children are seen in danger due to offence, but I can't find anyone in my area willing to help me.

my children had an established relationship prior to me stopping contact (I was supervising) so I guess it's different if yours have had none? I think this has gone against me as he can now argue he's got a bond / relationship etc

you can always message me as there's a lot I won't post publically , but I'd defo try and family a legal aid or if you can afford private family law solicitor x

Sorry I forgot to reply to you!

Thank you so much for your reply, really helpful but also a bit worrying. It seems it'll depend on what judge we get when we get to that point! I'm just sitting happily with his bail at the moment and will deal with it at the time depending on what happens x
