Time for device report to be produced

Hi
Does anyone know once devices are checked how long before the report is sent to the OIC.
Finally had confirmation the devices are checked and just waiting for OIC to receive report. This is my 17yrs old son (15 at time this relates to). Some may recall all we know is IP address and his email are link but we know he's reported stuff to snapchat that violated rules and his email was hacked.
I'm glad things are moving, just fills me with worry and dread. Feel sick in the stomach.

OIC told me that they get the download report quickly but it takes them at least 4/5 month to go through what they are sent so they can write their report to CPS. I asked what if nothing is found but they said they still need to write the report and send it off. Not sure how true this is because I don't believe much of what they say these day. I completely feel you with wanting this all to be over but terrified of the outcome, I honeslty feel like that daily at the minute.
Lostmum1 I agree sounds ridiculous if nothing found. I presumed a 2nd interview happened quickly if something was found and that would be highlighted when the OIC got the report sent. I just want it over before my son is 18. Don't even know how this will impact him going to university which he starts to apply for soon.
The word nothing is a bit misleading. Unless the device has been completely wiped, there will be plenty of things in the download report. It will be for the CPS to decide if any of them are enough to bring charges.
The obvious example is images that need categorising. The police will have to go through each one and in the case of porn, decide the age of the person in the image, with many potentially being on the borderline.
Then there will be other stuff like memes, cartoons, etc that could be classed as obscene or offensive in some way.

Yes, I think it takes time because they go through everything - so if there are loads of images - could be anything, completely innocent, they are still checking through that data. That's my understanding anyway. So It might taken a while but that isn't necessarily bad news. In our case, anything questionable was then checked again by someone else. But that was quicker as there wasn't much to be checked.
