Are charges made AT the second interview?

Hi...
Can anyone clear something up? When are charges usually made in relation to the second intervi? During/immediately afterwards? Or is the evidence gathered from the second interview then sent to CPS for review and a charging decision made ?
This is for a straightforward guilty indecent images case. Husband has had a letter asking him to call to arrange a meeting to "discuss the findings of the investigation of devices".
Just wondering whether charges will be made that same day.
Thanks

Hi Melody..
The police can only formulate charges in a few specific offences. The law was changed some years ago and the CPS must now be consulted in nearly all decisions and they decide on the charges.
My partner pleaded guilty on his second interview... He was placed inside a holding cell in custody whilst CPS decision / guidence was obtained. After a couple of hours inside the station he was formally charged by an officer and summoned to magistrate's court...
Best wishes..

My husband's case was sent to the CPS straight after the second interview. He receieved details from the CPS the following week, after admitting to offences during the first and second interview.
I can't remember how long we had to wait but at least a few weeks after the second interview and the police (in plain clothes) delivered the charges in a letter.
Hi.
Our experience has been the knock...arrested and interviewed to which he admitted everything. We waited 9 months (4 computers were seized) and the. They didnt re arrested or invite him down to the station he just had a letter sent detailing charges and summonds to court with a date. I dont know if that is because of covid?
