What's the process after a "voluntary" interview?
Notifications OFF
I've posted on one of the other forums, basically my son (21) has messaged a 10 year old girl on Snapchat. There is apparently a photo of a penis (my partner was told this by a police officer) but as it stands there is no username on it (there was another man messaging the girl at the same time).
Mwe were made aware of the allegations in early January and the police have still not spoke to my son. He has a voluntarily interview next Tuesday. I have looked into this, and what it means, and my understanding is (even though the police officer told him he wouldn't be arrested at it) is that if they have reason to arrest him, they will, now he has admitted to us that he sent written messages but not the picture. He will have a solicitor with him but are they going to advise him to say no comment to everything even though we know his username is on the conversations, so surely he should just answer their questions?? I assume once he admits it he will be arrested there and then?
I am hoping I know all of it and that they haven't got evidence of him doing this to other girls, so as it stands he has used sexual language towards her, what is his likely charge? Sentence?
When he was 17 he was in trouble for messaging a 14/15 year old, which no charge was ever brought of that case but as it is still on his record, surely this will be classed as previous offence?
I'm scared for us, and the repercussions of it all. He's already served a year in a YOI for being part of a robbery.
